Maternity Sessions

What should I wear to a maternity session?
Depending on the amount of skin you are comfortable showing is the first thing to consider when deciding on your wardrobe. Do you want to be draped in the buff or have just a bare belly showing?

The following are some suggestions of what to bring with to your session:

* A white button up shirt – if you don’t have one that fits, consider one of your spouses. This can be left unbuttoned to expose the belly nicely.

* Tube top or sports bra to cover chest during belly shots

* Your favorite maternity top or dress

* A stretchy maternity t-shirt to cling to your belly and really show the impact of the size of the belly

* Jeans that do not have a maternity band so that the regular jeans can be left open at the zipper and button. This also shows the impact of the belly size.

* Pay attention to your eyes, your manicure and pedicure. Hands are often the secondary focus of some of the pictures so they need to be beautiful too.

* Accessorize outfits that are more plain with jewelry that really pops. A white dress with a flashy necklace, or jeans and a t-shirt with bold earrings and bright lip color. Also, classy ring on the fingers to accent the up-close belly shots where you are holding your belly.

* A special object you have for the baby, toy, stuffed animal, name placard, or shoes.

Plan ahead so that all necessary props are available. Bring changes of clothing, make-up for refreshing, change of jewelry, hair pieces, and props. These props can include:

* Baby blocks spelling the name or baby

* Gender colored ribbons to tie around your belly

* Special items like booties or other baby clothing items

* Ultrasound picture

I will have a small supply of props to use during the session as well.
